SPMT week 10 Blog post 1 NFL Mock Draft 2019 2.0

Ashkan Motamedi  NFL Mock Draft 2.0 thoughts and who goes where

A lot different from my mock draft 1.0 some players shifting around leaving the first  round when I produce my next mock draft in 3 weeks there will be more changes

1 Cardinals  (Kyler Murray )

Despite drafting a QB last year Cardinals are going to take Kyler Murray and trade Josh Rosen away to the Redskins most likely Kliff gets his guy

2 Niners ( Nick Bosa DE)

A gift from their fellow division rivals you can argue that Nick Bosa is the best player in the draft and this selection adds a must need player to the Niners defense

3 Jets (Josh Allen OLB )

This pick could be a potential trade down pick the Jets defense is underrated and with addressing the offense in FA and this being a defensive dominant  draft Josh Allen falls to them at 3 gives them a fierce edge rusher look out for the Jets despite their suspect new uniforms

4 Raiders (Quinnen Willams DT)

I do not buy the Raiders taking a QB yet so they take a Fletcher Cox Hybrid in Quinnen Willams he can stop the run but be a force up the middle something the raiders need paring  him with Jonathon Haskins could make a very good dline pairing

5 Bucs ( Devin White LB )

This could be another trade back pick but I doub tit As of right now I do believe the Bucs will keep this pick and they take I believe the best prospect in this draft in Devin White. A lot of experts have him going lower but after a great combine performance I expect he will rise.  A field general linebacker who is all over the field and will make plays he will be the heart of Bucs defense that needs play makers my comparison is simple Ryan Shiazer

6 Giants ( Dwayne Haskins QB )

As I said in the last  mock draft this was an easy pick well I do not think so anymore but I’m not changing this for now until I hear more news on this matter I still believe they take Haskins but them going defense with this pick taking Daniel Jones at 17 is a possibility i may revisit in my next mock draft a week before the draft

7 Jags (Jawaan Taylor OT)

Jags need linemen to protect their new investment in QB Nick Foles so why not go with the best RT the draft in Taylor to help bring in their run offense and show off Nick Foles by giving him some time this pick makes sense

8 Lions (Montez Sweat DE)

This pick took awhile to think about even though I want to the lions to go CB to help Slay  with that 31^st ranked secondary out since the combine Sweat has taken the league by storm  potentially could go as high as 5 and TE is another need for the lions however it’s a deep TE class and simply they will take the best avaibale player on the board in Sweat but will revist this pick again next mock draft

9 Bills (Jonah Williams OT )

Nothing has changed here Bills went after WR in Free Agency Josh Allen needs olinemen the Bills lost 3 starters to either retirement or trades/FA and I believe they take a tackle here with Alabama T Jonah Williams being trusted to guard Josh Allen blind side for years to come

10 Broncos (Drew Lock QB)

Another pick that is up in the air but I’ll for now go with Drew Lock to Denver after the Redskins get Rosen and Elway simply having a man crush on the guy will revisit this pick again the next mock draft

11 Bengals (Devin Bush MLB)

Well Andy Dalton future remains uncertain but they will give him one more chance with new coach Zac Taylor so this pick will go with Devin Bush simply as they need linebacker help but QB could be in play with this pick

12 Packers

Rashan Gary (DE )

How on earth did he fall to here good question to ask well the Packers are in luck they get a top 7 talent at 12 help build up that D for Rodgers.

13 Dolphins (Clelin Ferrell DE)

No QB anymore here why because they are tanking for Tua or a 2020 QB defense is probably the play here  as another pass rusher comes off the board

14 Falcons

Ed Oliver DT

Same pick dream match for the Falcons. Once a top 5 pick I believe his issues when not playing drops him down but the falcons need a force the middle and Oliver talent who remind me of Geno Atkins will be too hard to pass up Dan quinn should put him in place

15 Redskins (Brian Burns OLB )

So this is a hard pick why because we have so many needs and well the Skins QB postion remains a mystery this pick could go to the Cards but for now it remains with the Skins and defense is the play and they get the edge rushing help they need with Burns going alongside Ryan Kerrigan will see if Rosen is a skin by the next mock draft.

16 Panthers (TJ Hockenson TE )

So you know I always thought with Cam Newton being a body bag olinemen would be the move here well Greg Olson isn’t getting any younger thinking about broadcasting so take his replacement first TE and first of the TE from Iowa off the board to give Newton when hes ready a shiny new toy

17 Giants ( DK Meltcalf )

Speaking of shiny new toys You lost Odell and well have two slot WR as your best WR and only outside WR is Corey Coleman yeah to please Giants fans Gentlemen goes WR here ignores defense for now simply another talent over need best player off the board and maybe just try to jutisfy keeping Eli

18 Vikings

(Cody Ford OT)

How do you help a “good “ QB like kirk cousins well you are in cap hell so you have to address your needs in the draft and start with that line and taking Cody Ford who has potential and can play both LT and RT to protect Captain Kirk

19 Titans

(AJ Brown WR )

Hes a play maker the  titans need some an easy pick for me

20 Steelers

(Greedy Willams CB)

Steal of round 1 here a top 10 talent my mind hes fits the need for the Steelers D that needs secondary help outside of Joe Haden Greedy Williams is a star in the making

21 Seahawks

(Jeffery Simmons DT)

Seahawks take a gamble take a pick who will not be on the field 2019 but is a top 15 talent would have gone higher if not for the injury  and once hes healthy he will produce its worth the gamble and reach by Pete Carroll and company.

22 Ravens

(Marquise Brown WR)

An injury forced me to knock him down in my Mock Draft but speed and explosiveness I believe he can be the best WR in the draft the Oklahoma product will be a new weapon for Lamar Jackson

23 Texans

(Andre Dillard OT)

I’m upset with the Texans so much cap space barely used it still have no secondary but Desean Watson is a great QB he needs protection his oline gave up 63 sacks I believe they draft best linmen left in Andre Dillard to protect Desean Watson I’m not too high on him but it’s a start to fix that line

24 Raiders

(Josh Jacobs RB Alabama )

People have said hes a top 5 talent as you know you can find RB all over the draft but with Lynch being old body breaking down Doug Martin is not the answer Alabama has a suspect history with RB breaking out as Henry started slow and Inghram plays 2^nd fiddle to Alvin K in New Orleans and Trent Richardson being a bust with that said RB is a need for the raiders Josh Jacobs best RB out there to get. I read back my first mock draft scouts gave him higher grade then Fournette so theres that Raiders could get their RB future here

25 Eagles

(Deandre Baker CB )

Yeah this easy they need corners Eagles got Jordan Howard now do not need a RB they need some corners to help Draby and Jones out Mills is still suspect his early season performance really with such an injury fill group in 2018 they still pefromed well I think they bring in more reinforcements with Baker

26 Colts

Christian Wilkins DT DL

I’m sticking with this pick WR could be a need but the colts have enough weapons on offense where they need to address pass rush pass rush pass rush Colts lack this they need play makers Wilkins balled out national championship and for Clemson overall with most of the good round 1 edge rushers off the board Colts go into the interior here with Wilkins who can be a run stuffer and help out in the pass rush department up the middle

27 Raiders

Byron Murphy CB

Well this was as tough as the Lions and skins why because they need a TE and there is one there but I feel like corner is the best here move Murphy is a good one Washington usually produces good CB its close I could change it back to TE next mock draft but with AB the fold maybe  addressing the secondary best course.

28 Chargers  (N’keeal Harry WR

With Tyreel Willams gone I have the Chargers giving Rivers some more help with Harry to go along with Keenan Allen with Henry at TE and Gordan at RB you could be looking at top skill group AFC

29 Chiefs

Johnathon Abrham S

Corners got taken so they settle at safety taking the best safety the draft in Abrham a hybrid with speed pair him with honey bradger you got a great duo

30 Packers

(Noah Fant TE)

Between TE and WR I believe that TE is the move for now Fant is underrated and will be a great addition for Rodgers

31 Rams (Dexter Lawrence DT)

Dexter Lawrence fits the bill here would not shock me if they he goes up higher in the draft   expect the rams to address Oline and Linebacker day 2 and 3

32 Pats

(Irv Smith Jr TE)

Simple as pie Gronk retirement  could have not come at a better time this deep TE class of course this causes them to go TE and I believe since he can run block very well something Bill B wants in his TE Gronk did great at especially in the playoffs step back his role this is the perfect pick

Note again  I’m not high on Daniel Jones I do believe if he does get taken In round 1 it be a team looking to trade back up for a QB like the ravens did last year players who fell from my first mock draft will go early round 2
