SPMT Blog Post 1 NFL Mock Draft thoughts and who goes where
1 Cardinals (Nick Bosa DE )
Despite somebody wanting to trade up for a QB and the Cards needing a lot of needs you take the best player available in Nick Bosa who will be a force like his brother.
2 Niners (Josh Allen OLB
While not my favorite Linebacker in this draft Niners have a need at linebacker with cutting Ruben Foster and Josh Allen is that player to take to help rush off the edge be a force
3 Jets Quinnen Willams
Jets need olinmen but this Is a defensive dominant first round you can find it elsewhere Film I have seen he is a force remind me of Fletcher Cox but he is very versatile and will be the next big Alabama
4 Raiders ( Rashaan Gary )
I expect them to keep Carr at QB they are desperate need of a pass rusher with Allen and Williams gone I expect them to take Gary at 6’5 280 the athleticism is there and could be a big help for the raiders
5 Bucs ( Devin White
As of right now I do believe the Bucs will keep this pick and they take I believe the best prospect in this draft in Devin White. A lot of experts have him going lower but after a great combine performance I expect he will rise. A field general linebacker who is all over the field and will make plays he will be the heart of Bucs defense that needs play makers my comparison is simple Ryan Shiazer
6 Giants ( Dwayne Haskins )
Simple but easy pick unless someone trades up to get him this is the giants guy I believe he will sit out a year learn under Eli before taking the ropes
7 Broncos Trade Up (Drew Lock )
I believe that Elway loves him and with teams needing a QB Elway will trade up 3 picks to get his guy. I love him too and as I contuine my film study on him I see the best QB in this draft class unless Murray plays football
8 Lions ( Greedy Willams )
Its simple they ranked 31st in the NFL secondary play Slay is great but you need another corner outside of him I believe while raw Willlams is the guy to go here
9 Bills (Jonah Williams)
Josh Allen needs olinemen the Bills lost 3 starters to either retirement or trades/FA and I believe they take a tackle here with Alabama T Jonah Williams being trusted to guard Josh Allen blind side for years to come
10 Jags (trade)
Greg Little OT
I believe the Jags will get Nick Foles and receiving more picks from the broncos they will take a tackle who can play both sides the ball who they need to protect Foles.
11 Bengals
Clelin Ferrel
New coach my expectation is they go edge rusher here take the Clemson edge rusher to give them some help on defense in a defense driven divison
12 Packers
Brian Burns DE
Another pass rusher goes off the board as packers need pass rusher help to get to the QB as they keep rebuilding the D
13 Dolphins
Kyler Murray QB
Dolphins take a chance here take murray with them almost getting rid of Ryan T Murray is the next Russel Wilson and is fully committed to football
14 Falcons
Ed Oliver DT
Once a top 5 pick I believe his issues when not playing drops him down but the falcons need a force the middle and Oliver talent who remind me of Geno Atkins will be too hard to pass up Dan quinn should put him in place
15 Redskins
D Thompson S
Skins need a safety and will take him at 15 wait on QB later I personally think he reminds me of Barrici Rambo who was a bust and awful open field tackler and awful playing the ball safety curse goes on but skins will still take need over talent here #firebruceallen
16 Panthers
Jawwan Taylor tackle
He could easily be the best olinmen in this draft Cam Newton injury problems require them to upgrade tackle
17 Browns
Marquise Brown WR
First WR off the board and Get Baker Mayfield a WR he knows of course with lack of WR 2 as Higgnas in injury prone Calloway drops a high % of passes this Brown can be a good fit in Cleveland as a Brown
18 Vikings
Yodny Cajuste OT
Vikings need olinmen bad only way with their cap is to build through the draft Cajuste offers a chance to play both tackle postions but LT is his home a great athlete great hands only problem is strength in the run game
19 Titans
DK Metcalf WR
They could use some speed at WR but they get another big body WR here to give Marcus some more weapons
20 Steelers
Devin Bush LB
Right now its an Easy pick but who knows with the Steelers they have lost their Identity on D without Ryan Shaizer and can start to bring that back with the 2nd field general in this draft in Devin Bush
21 Seahawks
Jachi Polite
Deepest class is DE and Seahawks need to go younger on D and this pick will help set the tone on an underrated Hawks D that will need a pass rush to win the divison next season.
22 Ravens
AJ Brown WR
Ravens need weapons for Lamar hes a smooth route runner and a good talent who is physical going up for balls he is good the open field with his cuts I believe Ravens would find their franchise WR this pick
23 Texans
Cody Ford OL
Desean Watson is a great QB he needs protection his oline gave up 63 sacks I believe they draft Cody Ford who was responsible in protecting Baker and Murray he can play guard too if they want to move him but this spick would be a step would be in the right direction
24 Raiders
Josh Jacobs RB Alabama
You can find RB all over the draft but with Lynch being old body breaking down Doug Martin is not the answer Alabama has a suspect history with RB breaking out as Henry started slow and Inghram plays 2nd fiddle to Alvin K in New Orleans and Trent Richardson being a bust with that said RB is a need for the raiders Josh Jacobs best RB out there to get. I read a scouts gave him higher grade then Fournette so theres that
25 Eagles
Byron Murphy CB
Simple Eagles secondary was destroyed by injuries Sidney Jones still working his way back from injury reaching his potential. Darby is about to be released and Jalen Mills did not have his best season so with that Eagles try again with another corner from Washington He’s small and 5’11 needs to put on some more muscle but he has playmaking skills and speed it would be a good pick to develop him to be a corner 1
26 Colts
Christian Wilkins DT DL
Pass rush pass rush pass rush Colts lack this they need play makers Wilkins balled out national championship and for Clemson overall with most of the good round 1 edge rushers off the board Colts go into the interior here with Wilkins who can be a run stuffer and help out in the pass rush department up the middle
27 Raiders
Noah Fant TE
This year TE is the deepest TE class in awhile not a lot of teams have a need for TE needs to be addressed in round 1 maybe the raiders do Jared Cook had a solid year and is hitting FA if he leaves this would be the pick for the raiders as I belive he is the best TE this class offers
28 Chargers
Andre Dillard
Chargers are stack on D so they will turn to their offense line and draft one of the player who impressed the senior bowl with his play in drills the game one of the better olinemen with solid footwork and pass pro is his strength if the chargers want to dethrone the Pats they need to protect Rivers this pick is a start
29 Chiefs
Deandre Baker CB
Yeah this easy they need corners they Have Eric Berry and Kendall Fuller but they need another corner to improve that awful back end their D especially when Berry Fuller got hurt. Baker is physical of his pressing of WR great open field tackler not the fastest dude but has the awareness reading QB and has good length this would be a good pick for the chiefs
30 Packers
N’keeal Harry
They got their edge rusher now they need a play maker to go on the other side with Adams N’keal Harry is a play maker great yards after catch abilty and could be a great red zone threat with adams being doubled or shadowed by corners. He does not run a fast 40 but think about it John Ross ran a 4.2 and well isn’t living up to the hype speed isn’t everything unless you’re tyreeke Hill but Harry is what the packers are looking for.
31 Rams
Montez Sweat DE
This pick is tough they made it to the super bowl do not have a lot of weakness but with Fowler a FA and the rams needing edge rushing I believe Sweat is the right call here simply need over talent pick I expect the rams to address Oline and Linebacker day 2 and 3
32 Pats
Jeffery Simmons
I cannot tell you when the Pats will draft a QB Daniel Jones is the best available but I believe the Pats will wait another year 2020 to get the QB they are looking for I believe they will address defensive help again with the pick of Jeffery Simmons who is a run stuffer who gets off blocks and underrated pass rusher Pats get their DT future here
Note I’m not high on Daniel Jones I do believe if he does get taken In round 1 it be a team looking to trade back up for a QB like the ravens did last year
